Update 1782 — Ascension, Royal Armour, Contacts, Tablet of Fame and a simpler Market
September 26, 2026Please close the game and run the patcher before logging in again. Nothing is lost: your characters, items, Yang, Market offers and Collection box are carried over.
- Ascension: whoever reached level 99 by playing can return to level 1 with the new Phoenix of Origin – at most three times (Ascension I / II / III for 10 / 15 / 20 million Yang). Level, EXP and status points reset and every skill keeps 80 % of its grade (e.g. P » G3); equipment, items, Yang, horse, biologist, completed quests, guild and friends stay. From level 56 on, each ascension brings the experience curve a third closer to the original curve of 2009.
- Ascension rewards: a bronze / silver / gold seal above your name (with a crown once you reach level 99 again on the Path of Origin), a title in the character window, a place under Hub › Rankings › Ascension, 3 / 4 / 4 inventory pages for the character (2 without ascension), 1 / 2 / 3 storage pages for your whole account, and +2 / +4 / +6 % Strong against Half Humans plus the same value as defence against every class (bonus window B; it also works against half-human monsters).
- Ascension rules: while an ascended character is below level 60, its skills count as M1 at most against players – against monsters they keep their full strength. Being carried does not pay: until level 99, monsters more than 10 levels above an ascended character give it only a tenth of the experience.
- Phoenix of Origin: the new NPC on the great square of Yongan, Joan and Pyungmoo holds the Ascension; Uriel now points you there and marks the spot on your map. “Guide” opens a window with overview, curve, costs & rules, rewards and the Royal Armour. New in every NPC dialog: a text speed button at the top right (x1, x2, x4, Instant) – your choice is saved.
- Royal Armour: the reward for Ascension III (+0, bound to the character, wearable from level 99). Only Jegal-Tunseok, the smith of kings in the smiths’ quarter of every capital, can refine it up to +9 – stones and bonuses stay, and a failed attempt keeps the level. From +0 to +9: defence 260 → 320, magic resistance 21 → 25 %, max. HP +3 → +10 %.
- Market (F7), simpler: Buy (Buy now | Auctions), My Shop (My offers | Wanted) and Collection box – “Fixed price” is now called “Buy now”. Selling is one dialog: click an item or drag it in from your inventory, then choose Buy now, Auction or Wanted; the price is pre-filled with the 7-day market price, next to the cheapest offer and your earnings after 3 %. What other players are looking for is now under My Shop › Wanted.
- Market slots per character: 12 offers (Buy now and auctions together) and 5 buy orders. Each Ascension tier and VIP add 3 offers and 1 buy order (up to 24 / 9); the Market shows your free slots on the left. Offers you already have stay. A taken-back item can be listed again after 5 minutes.
- New: Contacts (F6) – everything in one place. Messages: whispers and letters as one conversation per person, with an unread counter; circles are a group mailbox that stays readable even after you were offline (the former Messenger groups). Friends with level, class, kingdom and guild; Group & Guild with chat and guild board; Online shows who is playing – class, level, kingdom, guild, language, PvM, PvP and playtime, sortable and filterable; Search finds every character, even offline, with a profile. Clicking a name – in chat, in the Market, in the online list or at the Tablet of Fame – opens the same menu everywhere: Whisper, Letter (only within your kingdom), Friend, Profile. Alt+M opens Contacts as well.
- Tablet of Fame: a new stele next to the training stone in every capital – last week’s winners, lottery winners, all-time records, this week’s top 5 in PvM and PvP with your own rank, the weekly winners, the Chronicle and Ascension; click a name to get in touch. The training stone now shows your best hit and how much you need for the next rank. Everything is also on olderamt2.com/hall-of-fame.
- Chronicle of Firsts: 15 server firsts are recorded with name, class and date and announced to everyone – for example the first character to level 30, 50, 75 and 99, the first of each class at level 99, the first +9 weapon and armour and the first wedding. Team and beta-tool characters do not count.
- Weekly Path (from level 20): every Monday at 10:00 server time a new week starts with a bonus for all players (e.g. Week of the Hunt: +10 % experience) and a small task in your quest window. Complete it for 2× Lottery Ticket and 3× Fire Crackers in the Item Shop Storeroom – once per account and week.
- PvM balance: some Sura, Shaman and Ninja skill lines now deal more damage to monsters and take a little less damage from them, so every class levels at a fairer pace; PvP is unchanged.
- Fixed: upgrading with scrolls such as the Blessing Scroll works again; the entrance to Grotto 1 (Koe-Pung, Seungryong Valley) no longer puts you inside a wall; the Storekeeper no longer charges each further character of your account 500 Yang again; Seon-Pyeong no longer shows a Korean dead-end menu entry; more than 1,000 texts were corrected or translated for the first time in all languages. Screenshots are now saved in Documents\OldEraMT2, the game client is better protected, plus several stability and security fixes.
